Moving to Blogger

The decision has been made. Although WordPress is a great place to have a blog I’m just more comfortable with Blogger. So, I’ve moved my articles over to my new Blogger Blog. I’ll keep this WordPress Blog open for a while and I’ll link to any new articles I post on the new Blog. Thanks for your support. Hope to see you on Blogger!

Blogger vs WordPress

I’m having a really hard time making a decision about whether or not I want to keep this blog with WordPress, or just switch over to Blogger before I get too involved.
I have a different blog set up with Blogger, and I have liked it so far. If I remember correctly it was a little intimidating when I first signed up, but now that I’m familiar with it I like it a lot.
The only reason I’ve even considered WordPress is because I’ve heard such great things about it. So, I set up this great Blog to decided which one I like better.
Presently I’m a bit confused and frustrated with WordPress. Im just trying to figure everything out, and the difficulty may be just because it’s all new and the layout is different than what I’m used to; it does seem as though the language and instructions for Blogger are more normal-person friendly, whereas you almost need to be a computer-nerd to figure out WordPress (hopefully that’s just in the beginning).
The more familiar I become, however, the less overwhelming it is, and I am starting to develop a fondness for WordPress.

The differences I’ve noticed so far that I like about the two:

Blogger
+ ability to use 3rd party templates, allowing more creativity
+ 3rd party viewer stats are better than WordPress’ built in ones
+ having followers and a reading list of those you follow
+ when leaving a comment it automatically links back to your blog

WordPress
+ ability to add pages
+ posts made on other blogs show up on your dashboard, for easier follow up
+ comment form is already open in same window as post

These are just the main things off the top of my head. I’m sure the two will continue to update and add great features, but in the meantime I need to decide what’s the most important for now.
